Making it stick
“Here we go with the next shiny new thing.”
“Something else added to my plate. Will anything come off my plate?”
Perhaps you have heard these sentiments mumbled around the office?
How can we as leaders ensure that the working genius model becomes part of the organizations DNA?
The most important aspect of making a new idea stick (for example the working genius) is for the leaders to be fully committed to understanding and utilizing this tool on a regular basis. If you spend some time learning the different types of geniuses of each person yet never refer to them again or find a way to leverage those geniuses within the rhythm of the organization, then the newly learned information will quickly fade away.
If the leaders are intentional about using the newfound understanding of each person’s genius and builds structures to use this language regularly, then it will become referenced regularly and become part of the company’s DNA.
There are lots of practical ways to embed the working genius language and thinking into the ongoing culture of the company.
